File Maven Pro – Alternative to Windows Explorer
As I see it, you can take one of two roads if you have a PC and you want to manage your data. Since you already have a Microsoft product (mainly Windows), you could stay on Microsoft Blvd and use the file manager that Microsoft built into the Windows operating system, Windows Explorer.
But if you don’t like Windows Explorer, the file manager that’s been a part of Windows since Microsoft rolled out Windows 95, then you can take 3rd Party Street. If you go down this road you can find a lot of 3rd party-developed file manager applications for Windows. One application you can come across is the Briggs Softworks-developed File Maven Pro.
Here is what you can expect to get from File Maven Pro, from a functionality point of view:
- Dual pane interface that makes it quite easy to copy, move files from one location to another.
- Advanced search feature to help you rapidly and easily find what you are looking for.
- A built-in universal file viewer
- A built-in text editor
- File splitter and joiner
- ZIP archives are natively supported
- A permanent file wipe feature
Before you go get File Maven Pro and put it to the test, there are some technical details you should know about:
Download – the download weighs in at 1.3MB, which means it will complete in a blink.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, File Maven Pro offers support for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions).
Limitations – the trial version is limited to 25 uses.
